Applies to Enterprise and Project
SlatPlanner is a hybrid physical and software solution. In addition to smartphones, each SlatPlanner project will need the following to successfully use SlatPlanner. Missing any of these means you won't be able to use SlatPlanner at all.
1. Slat-Wall Panels
SlatPlanner was designed around standard slat-wall panels, available at most retail fixture supply stores throughout North America(and some Home Improvement stores). Panels are sold in 2'x4' and 4'x8' Sheets and are generally available in a variety of colors.
2'x4' Sheets are available at Amazon for almost double the price of most home improvement stores.
Each 4’ x 8’ panel can hold up to thirty (30) SlatNotes across by fifteen (15) SlatNotes tall. (Note: SlatNotes will fit metric slat-walls, however, metric slat walls have fewer rows per panel.) Slat-wall panels can be seamlessly combined to create a planning space as wide and tall as desired. Screws should be driven through the grooves in the slat-wall panels and penetrate solid wall studs.
SlatNotes were created by the founder of SlatPlanner for the specific purpose of placing task stickers on them. They're so good, there's a patent pending for their design.
SlatNotes typically ship in boxes of 200, we recommend purchasing one box per each 4’ x 8’ slat-wall panel. SlatNotes are reusable and made of a dry-erase material. Though, it is recommended that you test individual dry-erase markers for compatibility.
SlatStickers come in packs of one hundred (100) sheets, with nine (9) stickers per sheet: totaling nine hundred (900) stickers per pack. These stickers come on 8.5” X 11” sheets that can be printed from either laser and inkjet printers (Please let us know if you need metric-sized sheets).
4. Color Printer w/ color ink
We highly recommend keeping a dedicated color printer in the planning area for printing new tasks at a moment’s notice. Practically any color printer fits.
We recommend the HP ENVY 5660, for under $100. It’s wireless and supports AirPrint ®, which means that you can print task stickers, on the fly, from any device, including phones.
It is important to use color ink because Tasks are color coded by responsible, while the responsible party is also printed on the sticker, it is difficult to see when stepping back with an overall view.
5. Any Android or iOS device with a camera
Lastly, any smartphone that has a web browser and a camera can log into SlatPlanner.app and scan the QR Codes on each SlatSticker. Keep in mind, that a user with the correct permissions (Project Admin or Edit All Tasks), must be logged in with this device to scan.
